Musical Mash-Up Overview: Musical Mash-Up invites young creators to dive into the world of music — blending rhythm, melody, and lyrics to produce their own original songs. This program explores the fundamentals of music-making, from writing lyrics to mixing beats and performing live. Students will experiment with different sounds and genres, learning how to build a song from scratch. They’ll write meaningful or playful lyrics, craft catchy melodies, and layer sounds to create dynamic tracks. Whether they’re drawn to pop, rock, hip-hop, or electronic music, each student will find their unique style. In addition to songwriting and production, students will also practice performance techniques — building confidence as they present their music to the group or even record a virtual concert. By the end of the program, each participant will have an original song (or two!) to share — whether it’s a solo performance, a collaborative mash-up, or a fully produced digital track.
